Do you know a colleague doing extraordinary work for our schools?

The Division of Human Resources wants to help you celebrate them with the Burke County Public Schools Most Valuable Bear (MVB) Award!  This program is designed to recognize, honor, and celebrate staff members who consistently go above and beyond in service to our students, schools, and district. Whether you work full-time or part-time in any role across the district, you can nominate a deserving peer who goes above and beyond for our students and staff.

How It Works:

  • Nominations: Each employee may submit one nomination per open window. Nominations are active for one cycle only, so be sure to re-nominate during each open window to keep a colleague in consideration!

  • Committee Review: A committee will review all submissions.

  • Frequency: 

    • 2025–2026 School Year: Due to our mid-year launch, there were two (2) nomination cycles.

    • 2026–2027 School Year & Beyond: Nominations will occur four (4) times annually.

Keep an eye out for the official link once the next nomination window opens, and take a moment to celebrate the colleagues who make a difference every day!

 

 

    • All nominations must be specific about the nominee and their exceptional contributions.
    • All nominations must highlight key things or areas where the nominee went over and above their call of duty. We are looking for instances where the individual exceeded expectations, not routine responsibilities.
    • All nominations must include example(s) that showcase how the nominee made a meaningful impact in their role and/or how they went above and beyond to be highlighted as a most valuable team mate, also known as Most Valuable Bear.
    • Individuals may not nominate themselves.

  • Once the nomination window opens, a link will be provided for you to submit your nominations. We encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the colleagues who truly make a difference in your school or department and submit your nomination by the established deadline.

    • Be specific about the nominee and their exceptional contributions.
    • Highlight key areas where the nominee goes above and beyond their everyday duties.
    • Provide examples that showcase how they make a meaningful impact in their role.
    • Complete the link below in its entirety.
    • Submit one nomination per nomination period.
