Severe Weather Warnings
We use this web site along with our NOAA Weather Radios (one in each school) to receive weather warnings quickly.
Hurricane Warnings and Tracking Information
Three of our schools (BCHS, WPS, and BCAS) are Red Cross Shelters. This website gives us up-to-date information and can let us know in advance if we may need to "set up" a Red Cross Shelter.
GEMA (Georgia Emergency Management Agency
Our REMBC is partnered with appropriate emergency agencies and GEMA has contributed significantly to our plan.
REMS (Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools)
This web site is a part of the U.S. Department of Education and has provided the research and up-to-date school safety information needed to develop our REMBC.
Burke County Health Department
Excellent information including "Health Alerts" and contact information.
